Hong Kong Haul
Hong Kong is a shoppers’ heaven, with the most wonderful things on offer and I love going back to my home country and spend a day out shopping with my mum to discover new things that Hong Kong has to offer. This year I bought back a lot of things in my suitcase and I would love to share them with all my readers, please bear with me as this is my first ever haul post so any comments to how I can improve them and whether you like them would be extremely useful, so enjoy.
Since it was Christmas when I went back to Hong Kong I got a lot of christmas presents. I am such a lucky girl and was utterly spoilt. I received a number of gifts from family and friends which are amazing and they have such amazing taste and opened my eyes to things that I have never tried but now I have them in my life I don’t know how I lived without these things:
My brother bought me an amazing book “Neal’s Yard Remedies – Healing Foods” which is a bible for outlining all the benefits of certain foods. Sure most of them are fruit and vegetables but it is nice to know that nature has some incredible natural remedies for the simplest things, it also has some simple recipes to help keep your body healthy. I also got a bunch of beauty products, apart from travelling with my handy little festive Little Lost Ones nail varnish and Shiseido lip balm, I have several new things to add to my travelling beauty bag. An Estee Lauder nail palette with some insanely beautiful shades from pink to orangery red sometimes I find that having a lip palette gives you more options and more control over your lip colour. But for that everyday look I got some Shiseido lip colour with the cutest lip charms in pink and a dark red shade, and a bobbi brown lip colour. These new additions to my make up bag make me want to match my future outfits with sumptuous lip colours more often. My new shiseido party palette and bobbi brown eye colour palette are amazing and provide me with a spectrum of colours. I have been noticing that the packaging for all of these pieces are extremely beautiful, it almost makes me not want to use them. The other two gifts I got are these amazing sunglasses with green reflective lens with camouflage frames. Aren’t they so cool? Also I got this amazing mini Diana Lomography camera with a flash. I love the fact that I got a gold one as it acts just like an accessory. Lomography is not something that I have been experienced with and I look forward to going back to taking photos with film and developing photos and waiting to see what the photos look like, especially with such a cute camera.
After going shopping and seeing some of my items of clothing I realised that I had a bit of a grey colour palette. From my new extra warm heat tech polo neck to my warm and cosy long cardigan which I bought in this amazing store in the Prudential centre in Jordan which sells loads of amazing Korean clothes I guess that the cold weather of England was playing on my mind. But I since I have been back in London I have been wearing that cardigan everyday. The other amazing place which I love shopping is in Causeway Bay where I spent a afternoon with my mum and I found an amazing grey furry clutch bag which I have been hunting for since I returned to Hong Kong. Island Beverley is an amazing little shopping mall filled with small independent shops with amazing clothes, accessories and beauty products from places like Korea and Japan. I bought this fluffy bag and this cute funnel neck cropped jumper with long lace overlay in a little obscure shop with the most incredible Korean pieces which you can order. I just thought that these silver studded Staccato brogues would go perfectly with this jumper and grey trousers to bring tonal dressing together in my way in my wardrobe. I got given these grey soft jumpers from Esprit which are great basics to have in your winter wardrobe I have discovered. Who thought that my new go to colour wouldn’t be black it would be grey?
I guess you can say that lace was something that I found too hard to resist in Hong Kong. I bought two more fashionable tops which are thicker then a top but the sleeves are not long enough to qualify them to be in my jumper pile. The green/ grey wooly top on the left come from Prudential centre and the grey funnel neck with black lace came from Island Beverley. Of course a Nike sports bra which I love with the neon pop to help motivate me to get myself to the gym. I love nike sports bras they fit extremely well and the fabric is nice and comfortable to wear. How much do you love these Hogan wedge trainers which my auntie bought me? They are a velvet leather mix shoe and they are a new take on a wedge trainer which is a little more formal then what I have in my wardrobe. I also got given some metallic temporary tattoos from Lola dk which I can’t wait to wear in the summer with all my summery outfits on holiday just to give them a bit of an edge. Hong Kong has some great home grown products, my mum introduced me to a store in the basement of Times Square on Hong Kong island where I bought this little sheep shaped speaker. It is bluetooth compatible and the sound and battery life are surprisingly impressive for a great little product which doesn’t cost the earth.
Finally to add to my Toki Doki collection I bought back a weekender Toki Doki / Le SportsSac bag which is bigger then my other bag which I have previously instagramed. The construction of these bags are great, and the fabric is lightweight and perfect for a long weekend away. The other place that I always go in Hong Kong is Uniqlo, I love the store in Causeway Bay which is the Asian flagship store and it has loads of deals and exclusive product which you wouldn’t find anywhere else. These soft fleece pyjamas are exclusive to the store which I have been wearing constantly since I have been back in London with the cold weather it is really nice to have a soft warm set of PJs to help you get to sleep at night. I have also discovered Uniqlo trouser leggings which come in an array of colours and are so unbelievably comfortable, they are my everyday secret weapon and when I go back to Hong Kong I stock up on all the new colours. Plus I came back with these lovely scarves, one which is a chunky neon knit snood and a pink and green came print which is one of the softest scarves I own. I love accessories and I have definitely been spoilt with loads of scarves over the years, these two will definitely be a welcome addition to my accessories cupboard when you live in a cold climate who doesn’t love the addition of a scarf?
