Happy 2016 to all my followers, I hope everyone had a great new years celebration and has had a great start to the new year. Hope that this year I will share with everyone different experiences, ideas, places and things which simply make you happy through my daily life. My new years resolution is to stay positive and make and take as many opportunities a possible to develop myself as a person and as a creative. To learn new things and improve myself, I can just feel that it is going to be a good year! I hope that you follow me through it.

After making my first ever quilt and having such an amazingly happy response, I decided that I should embark on more DIY projects, maybe one day I would be able to make presents for all of my friends and family at Christmas if I find the time and the right materials. But this year one lucky little baby is going to get something made with love from her Auntie.

I found some beautiful cotton at home left in a drawer and drew up a design for a little sheep which I thought that I would sew as a Christmas gift made with lots of love.
It is super simple to make a little pillow stuffed character which can be any shape you want. I simply free hand drew the pieces on the back of the fabric following my sketch. If your shapes are more complicated you can always draw them on paper making a pattern and then cut out 2 of each. I decided to mix and match different fabric patterns to make it look unique and appliqué on pieces using the zig-zag setting on my sewing machine.
I like buying stuffing from John Lewis which is hypoallergenic and safe for children, you can buy it in bags and stuff your little creature as little or as much as you want. Just have some fun and create something which comes from your heart for someone you love.
I am so happy that I did this for this special little girl and hope that she loves it and I hope that it somewhat lasts a few years so that she can remember a gift from her first ever Christmas. Through all these simple projects I have realised that a little effort goes a long way and I hope to come up with more of these simple things to make people happy throughout 2016, stay tuned to see what I get up to!
